Entry Recommendations: Completion of Year 10 English, with specific focus on reading and writing skills. Entry into this course is at the discretion of the Head of Faculty English and is based on Achievement from Year 10 English. Students need to apply Level 5 skills consistently or by teacher recommendation and in consultation with the Head of Faculty.
Course Outline: This is a stimulating and engaging course geared towards higher English study for those students who may wish to study towards NCEA English Scholarship in Years 12 and 13, as well as for students who may wish to study the International Baccalaureate. The course will involve analytical and critical literacy skills, as well as explore the key areas of focus for the English International Baccalaureate programme in Year 12 and year 13.
