NCEA Level 3 Creative Technologies – Textiles

Number of Credits: up to 20
Entry Recommendations: Open entry, NCEA Level 2 Textile Technology is an advantage. Students who have completed the Level 2 course will have priority entry.
Course Outline: This course addresses the requirements of the technology achievement standards through one project; ‘Designer of the Future’. These skills are all developed around a brief that the student has written regarding a specific innovative materials based need and opportunity. The students will also write a report based on modelling techniques that they and other practitioners have used in their practise for their external assessment.

Course Costs: All costs of materials used in the construction of the design solution are the responsibility of the student.
Assessment: Components of this course will be selected from the following standards to suit individual learning needs. Technology Scholarship is also offered.
