Entry Recommendations: NCEA Level 2 Design & Visual Communication is recommended or entry in consultation with the Head of Technology Faculty.

This course also allows students to enter for Scholarship

Course Outline: This course is comprised of one major project – a spatial design or a product design. Students are provided with the opportunity to further extend skills in visual literacy and creative thinking. Students are required to apply these skills in order to go through the design process which includes the development of a brief, conducting research, coming up with concepts, the refinement of ideas and ultimately producing a final design solution.

Course Costs: Students will need a range of graphic and material items for design projects in addition to the Year 12 requirements. Approximately $60 for other course related costs.
